if you’ve been to hokkaido, you’d have seen this infamous Marimokkori – this is my favourite marimokkori phone strap:
Marimo is another famous souvenir from Hokkaido, and is a kind of green algae found in freshwater. While mokkori is slang for an erection. There’re pictures and souvenirs of him all over hokkaido, with perhaps this photo opportunity being my favourite:
it was hilarious to see a little girl with her hand on the mokkori, her dad posing with his face at the cut-out oval.. very amusing was also this sign in a souvenir shop:
the verdict was that it tasted bad though..
